Monday’s Meme: Today

July 6th, 2009 | Uncategorized | 2 comments

1. What is the weather like where you are today?

It was raining hard as we drove into town from Aiea. Once we got to school the weather was starting to clear up and the sun was peeking through the dark clouds.

2. When did you get up today?

I got up at 5:30 this morning because I wanted to go running. Unfortunately, it was raining too hard so I just played Bejeweled on Facebook until about ten to six.

3. What is the first thing you did when you got on your computer today?

I logged in and checked my work email. Then I printed the parent letters.

4. What do you need/want to get done today?

Today I NEED to finish the Art Exhibit Web Quest for my fourth period “Wading Through the Web” students.

5. What are you wearing today?

I am wearing a gray blouse with a burgundy tank top and black jeans with open-towed sandals.

Monday Meme: Liar, Liar! Pants on Fire!

June 29th, 2009 | Uncategorized | 4 comments

1. Do you ever tell lies? Don’t lie!

I cannot tell a lie… I have told many lies in my 39 years of life. Oops, I mean 40 years of living on this planet.

2. Are “little white lies” okay if no harm is done?

There are many instances when a white lie is appropriate. For instance, I tell my children to never answer the phone and say “Mommy is using the bathroom.” Instead, they can simply say, “Mommy is busy, may I take a message.”

3. Would you lie to your parents? Would you lie to your significant other?

Ugh. Since we are telling the truth, I have to say I would lie to my parents and husband. Nothing big or damaging, but sometimes I will tell my husband that dinner is almost ready and I haven’t even started it. Or I will say that I totally forgot to do something or it slipped my mind when I just am too lazy to get to doing it.

4. Have you ever been caught lying?

Yes. Caught and punished.

5. What is the biggest lie you’ve ever told (that you can talk about here)?

Okay, okay, I’ll come clean. It’s not really a lie I’ve told, but I didn’t tell the entire truth.I was in charge of organizing a trip to Maui for a workshop. There were five of us going for work and they gave me the airline tickets to hold. (This was before Electronic Tickets.) Well, I lost those tickets. Gone. Poof! Never to be seen again. I never revealed that to my co-workers or boss. Instead I just went and bought new tickets out of my own pocket. That was a big dent in my savings account, but I was too embarrassed to admit how careless I had been.

Whew! Now I feel better. (I mean about keeping that lie, not about having to pay for five people to travel round-trip to Maui!)

Monday Meme: Spring Forward

June 22nd, 2009 | Uncategorized | 2 comments

1. List 3 things you like about spring:

I love rain because it brings rainbows. Spring means shorter days because summer school is only a half-day Finally, during the spring there are always a couple of graduation parties to attend. That’s always fun and means delicious food.

2. List 3 things you hate about spring:

If I had to list three things that I didn’t like about this time of the year, it would be the end of the school year because a lot of students start getting lazy, I don’t like the increase of insects, and also, as summer approaches, it’s getting hotter and hotter.

3. Do you set your clocks forward in the spring? Do you think it is a good idea?

In Hawaii, we don’t set our clocks forward. I believe that Arizona also does’t as well. I understand why other states do, but I’m not sure it would make that much of a difference for the people in Hawaii since we are so close to the equator.

4. Do you have allergies in the spring? Do you take any allergies medications?

Nope. And Negative.

5. What are you looking forward to the most this spring?

My cousin is getting married on July 5th so we are all excited about her wedding. It is always great to celebrate with others.
